Who?

Dr Sarah Hall is a passionate and driven registered Tasmanian Veterinarian.

Born and bred in Southern Tasmania’s Huon Valley she grew up in Dover and spent a lot of her early years on and in the water. She finished early schooling in the south and continued up to Hobart to further her college studies. A mixture of public transport, and early morning/late night drives, she travelled each day from Dover-Hobart to finish year 11 and 12. She then pursued a degree in Veterinary Bioscience at Monash in Victoria and graduated in 2016.

After returning home evaluating career options, she maintained her trajectory and was determined to enter the Veterinary profession and was accepted at James Cook University in 2017.

After 5 grueling years in the tropics, Sarah returned home and has been working since 2021, predominantly with companion animals and exotics, with the odd farm animal here and there. Her passion lies in many forms within the industry. With these special interests, come the passion for providing consistent and continual care to the human and animal community in Tasmania.

A few stand outs for her include:

Anesthesia and analgesia (pain control)

Rabbit, guinea pig and avian medicine and surgery

Small animal soft tissue surgery

Veterinary industry mental health and wellbeing

Importance and benefit of general practice

You will often recognise Sarah due to her ever-changing hair colors and now a recent addition to her appearance in the form from an original model Nissan 350Z 2003 sportscar. This is an old classic that has always been a dream of Sarah’s to own, driven not by her love of cars, but by her love of videogames (odd connection there I know). The true gamers of our generation will understand the reference

Sarah has an ever-growing fur-family at home, each with distinct personalities and backgrounds

  • Legoless (he has one less leg). Found as a stray kitten trapped in a rat trap with a nasty complicated fracture to his front left leg. Sarah amputated and recovered the little guy until he was strong enough to go to a new home. That new home eventuated with Dr Sarah, and Lego has been the backbone to Sarah’s little circle of fur-family.

  • Sir Squish. A chunky food motivated stray that came in as a juvenile, friendly guy who bonded with Lego and wants to be friends with everyone. He is exceptionally food motivated and doesn’t really know how to be a cat, other than yelling at you for attention and food.

  • Oryx, found as a stray with sister Savi, raised from 2 weeks, a gentle and loving soul. He will play with a leaf for hours and entertain himself with the simplest of interactions.

  • Savathun, found as a stray with brother Ori, raised from 2 weeks old a very curious and independent girl, yet loyal and will shadow your every move to try and help with whatever you’re doing.

  • Pumpkin the Lovebird, a very strong personality that is extremely interactive and loves teasing her feline roommates, inclusive of giving them a good nip when they’re being too overzealous.

  • Salt, talkative ‘lil Budgie guy that was offered as a giveaway on social media

  • Bing, a very lovely older Rabbit man that loves his space, who suffers from eye issues and a history of testicular cancer, offered for surrender to a new home.

  • Bong, intelligent curious little Rabbit guy that was found in as a stray and offered for surrender to a new home.

  • Guinea Pigs x 6, offered for surrender to a new home.

  • Fish x 9, mixture of betta’s, goldfish and clouds within their own aquascapes and environments.
